FAQs: As a Burnaby carpet cleaning company here are a few questions we get often.

Q: How long does it take for the carpets to dry?

A: Generally drying times are between 2-12 hours depending on the time of year, indoor and outdoor temperature, carpet type, soil level, and airflow.

Q: Are the products you use safe for kids and pets?

A: As Burnaby carpet cleaners our health and your family’s health are very important to us. We use products that have beeen developed for the world of environmentally responsible cleaning. The products are formulated with a special blend of ecofriendly agents to deliver powerful spot and stain removal results on carpet and upholstery.

Q: Are you familiar with cleaning wool area rugs?

A: Yes, we are an IICRC certified firm. We have been trained to handle natural fibres. It is know that 5 out of 100 rugs tend to bleed. We properly pre-inspect, and test for dye migration to ensure your valuable investment will not be ruined. Our staff includes a Master Textile Cleaner and Master Area Rug Restorer.

Q: If I need my carpets cleaned, how soon can you clean them?

A: Generally a 3 day booking notice is sufficient. If we are in your neighbourhood the day you call or email, we may be able to service you the same day. Call or email our office for the most up to date availability.

Q: Can you remove all the spots on my carpet?

A:  As a Designated Master Textile Cleaner I am more than qualified to tackle any spot or stain. However I do have some limitations. Not all spots are removable. Variables include fabric type, age of carpet, whether carpet was protected last time it was cleaned, whether you have attempted to clean it, does  sunlight shine on it, and what was the cause of the spot or stain. I am a phone call away to be able to tell you what the expected results will be. If it is not removable the next option would be repairing the area with a piece from a closet.

Q: What should I do if I spill something on my carpet or upholstery?

A: Start by absorbing the spill using a white terry cloth of paper napkins. Avoid coloured towel because although it be a slim chance there is a chance the colour from the towel will transfer on to the carpet or upholstery. Call our office for info on what type of spotter you should use. Using the correct spotting agent will highten the chance of removal. As a general rule (1.)oxidize the organics(coffee, tea, wine, pet soiling) with hydrogen peroxide(3.5%), (2)oily spots using degreaser or  drop of dishsoap in cup of water,(3) inks, cosmetics will require a solvent (odourless mineral spirits, WD40). But again call our office so we can guide you through the process. The idea is to suspend to spill with the cleaning solution then extract it out of the fabric. Without the proper equipent this can be challenging. You will need equipment that sprays water and vacuums at the same time.

Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

A: Carpet manufacturers recommend and require you to clean your carpets every 12-18 months to comply with their warranty programs. At the 3 year new stage they recommend reapplication of carpet protector after each cleaning. Vacumming should be done once a week to remove dry soils that can be abrasive as you walk on the carpet. An outdoor, bristley mat and regular indoor mat will help keep onwanted debris from entering your home. Stay away from dark soled house shoes as they contribute to the dark traffic lane look. Clean for health as well as appearance.
